Live Scan
Per California Assembly Bill 506, effective January 1, 2022, anyone involved in a youth sports organization who spends 32 hours or more per year with children must go through this process. This is a one-time, NOT annual, requirement for each volunteer, and is regardless of whether they have been Live Scanned previously for any other organization or employer.
The process we are using requires online advance registration and making a reservation at this website https://www.applicantservices.com/AYSO-BILLED. Each volunteer should choose to register to "Get Fingerprinted at an AYSO Sponsored Event" and then select an event. The online registration process takes about 10 minutes. It involves providing relevant personal information and watching a brief video about the process. At the field, the fingerprinting process will take only 2 minutes. One brief note - volunteers shouldn't try to enter a "direction" where asked unless their street address actually does include a "North," "East," etc.)
Most importantly, this process is FREE to the volunteer. If done on this date, the cost will be directly billed to us (Area 1D). If not done at an AYSO Event like this, volunteers may have to individually pay to go through the Live Scan process, and then seek to be reimbursed by the Region (if applicable).
How To Take An Online Course on EtrainU
1) Go to https://www.ayso21.org/region21
2) Click Login if you have signed up before or Register Now if you are new to AYSO. During registration choose "I am a team coach or other team personnel" if you are signing up to just volunteer and don't have your child registered to play in this season.
3) You should be taken to your My Account page with a VOLUNTEER menu option on the left side
4) Click on the VOLUNTEER tab showing your volunteer roles and a button a "AYSOU" on the far right
5) Clicking the "AYSOU" button should automatically log you into the AYSO EtrainU website
6) Click on Training Library on the right side Navigation Bar which will take you to available online training material.
7) Click Training Event to find in-person training sessions
Click on link: SafeSport Training
You must use this link with the special key (tsVWe36Xa6PS3b5NzOug) to be recognized as an AYSO Volunteer.
The system will prompt you to provide your information and create an account. Use the same email you used in SportsConnect when you submitted your volunteer application.
You do not need to provide a MembershipID, select your Volunteer Role (Admin, Coach, Official, etc) and for Name of Sport or Community Organization, type: AYSO Region 21.
When you logon, go to My Courses and verify the following course appears. The course is Free.
If you don't see any courses, a different course or there is a fee listed, there was a problem when you registered.
